Position Description:
Supervise, participate, coordinate, direct and administer all phases of the food production in order to maximize profit and maintain high standards and quality for the pastry shop. Develop new dessert menus for the restaurant and special events. A minimum of two years in the pastry field is required, and a degree from a post-secondary culinary arts program is preferred.
Ability to produce specialty cakes and wedding cakes is also desirable. This position reports to the executive chef. This property is a five-room inn and upscale restaurant located in a college town in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
Pastry Chef is currently responsible for cooking breakfast for inn guests five days a week, as well as baking fresh breads each day for the restaurant. Position is also responsible for creating and preparing 6-7 desserts that will be served in the restaurant five days a week, using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients.
