Position Description:
We are looking for a creative, energetic, and talented chef to work along side our James Beard Nominated chef/owner in one of our two restaurants located in Jackson, MS. Our menu is New American with a regional slant focusing on farm to table locally sourced foods. Our customer base is 95% local and we are considered (voted) best restaurant in the city year after year. We are located in a very affluent historical Arts District that is both upscale and funky. We have a very "hands-on" style of running our businesses and we aren't afraid of hard work. We appreicate an employee who is also a hardworking team player. We are looking for a chef with an excellent palette, interesting food combinations, an appreciation of simple straight forward flavors, and (equally important) the abilty to work the line. For us, its all about the food, the people who come in to eat it, and the staff that creates it. We treat our staff and our loyal patrons like our family. Most of our staff have been with us 8 or more years. We have patrons that come in 2-4 times a week every week. As you can see, we are NOT corporate. If your passion is in the kitchen and not in an office, this just might be the job for you.
