Purpose of Position:
Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe sanitary working environment.
The performance of this position effects guest satisfaction and an impression of the service the Hotel provides. This impression can lead to repeat business and reputation enhancements. To serve the guests in a Five Star manner. Assure highest quality of the Department by working in an efficient and conscious manner, as well as, maintaining and developing the highest service standards possible.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned. Management also reserves the right to change or modify position descriptions from time-to-time to meet the needs of the business with or without notice).
-Follow proper payroll and uniform procedure. -Check for the mise en place to ensure an adequate supply of materials for the shift and bring up to par those items needed. -Set up the station by obtaining all equipment and materials needed. -Prepare all mise en place needed for station. -Prepare station for service. -Prepare and plate all items received from the computer system in a timely and accurate manner and communicate with cooks regarding timing. -Ensure a neat, clean and organized work area. -Properly break down the station by storing foods properly and carefully after labeling them. -Turn off all equipment ensuring no safety hazard has been left behind. -Complete requisitions when needed. -Handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor. -Execute private Dining Room functions for the required food. -Follow all guidelines for timely food service to guests. -Be certified in food service sanitation. -Knowledge of Taj Hotels Food Standards. -Execute Alternative cuisine. -Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation. -Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
